A REMARKABLE ENVIRONMENT

       When you enter the "Golden Gate of the Côte de Nuits", you will discover in the harmony of the hillsides, the typical and discrete charm of a village of the Côte, enclosing within its walls an architectural heritage, which is well worth a visit. From its privileged situation, at the foot of wooded hillsides, Marsannay, a "a green village", offers hikers a number of shaded trails, as well as sign-posted paths for discovery by foot or by mountain bike of the remarkable surroundings.

For a better guide to the trails, the Marsannay-la-Côte Tourist Office has at your disposal the I.G.N. (National Geographical Institute) map of the area at 1/25000th.

Advice
The circuits are made up of sections of road, paths and trails; during dry weather they can be covered in walking shoes or sneakers, in damp weather or after a period of rain, hiking shoes with soles with good grip are recommended. For your safety, do not go closer than two metres away from the cliff edges. Guard-rails are in place to allow you to admire some beautiful viewpoints. In respect of the environment, signposts (to mark the trails) are limited to a strict minimum, although there are a sufficient number. A descriptive brochure, an invaluable supplement, is available at the Tourist Office. At the end of your walk, if you had any difficulties, please inform someone at the Tourist Office.
